2014 Le Cadeau PN Cote Est This is an irresistibly tasty wine, bursting with lovely berry and cherry fruits, soaked in deliciously decadent chocolaty barrel flavors. But it’s not that simple. Propped up with sufficient acidity, ripe tannins and a slight tilt toward earthy underpinnings, it offers compelling length and complexity also. Drink now through 2022. Editors’ Choice. —P.G. 2014 Le Cadeau PN Trajet Reserve From all-estate fruit, this dives into experimentation with 85% whole cluster fermentation and native yeast. The results are mixed, giving herbal and white pepper accents to the bright red-berry flavors, but putting a bitter edge on the tannins. A couple more years of bottle age would be a good idea. It’s too young to show its best at the moment. Wine Enthusiast 91 2016-12-23
2014 Domaine Pegau Cuvee Reservee Light, hazy yellow. Explosive, mineral-driven aromas of fresh pear, peach pit and white flowers carry a gingery background note. Stony, focused and pure on the palate, offering intense orchard fruit and citrus fruit flavors that become weightier with air. Clings with strong tenacity on the finish, which shows excellent clarity and a resonating floral note. Vinous 92 2016-12-14
2015 Les Darons Languedoc AOP What looks like another great vintage here, the 2015 AOP Languedoc les Darons is made from 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 5% Carignan; grapes were completely destemmed, and fermented and aged all in concrete tanks. It sees absolutely no oak whatsoever. This medium to full-bodied, plump, rounded, downright sexy 2015 has lots of blueberry, violets, and jammy black cherry aromas and flavors; it has terrific purity of fruit, good acidity and an overriding sense of elegance. If it came from a more prestigious appellation in the southern Rhone, it would go for three times the price. -Jeb Dunnuck Wine Advocate 93 2016-12-01
2009 Cote Bonneville Cote This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The aromas suggest notes of high-toned herbs, cranberry, fresh cherries and cassis that provide appeal. The palate provides elegant, sophisticated flavors that linger. —S.S. Wine Enthusiast 90 2016-12-01
2009 Cote Bonneville Cote This gorgeous bottling was aged 23 months in 100% new French oak cooperage. In 1992, the Shiels planted 45 acres to six varietals under diverse soils. The DuBrul vineyard is known as one of the premier vineyards in the state. Superstar winemaker Kerry Shiels has crafted another wonderful Cote Bonneville. This wine begins with aromas of sandalwood, smoke, black tea, black cherry with red bell pepper. It has a nice herbal edge to it. This leads to flavors of blackberry, baking spices, pipe tobacco, anise and red cherry. Young at this juncture but lovely and has the typical impressive structure found in Kerry's bottlings. Give this at least one more year for more fruit to integrate. (Best 2017-2034) International Wine Report 93 2016-12-01
2014 Dunham Lewis Riesling The 2014 Dunham 'Lewis Vineyard' Riesling is another gorgeous effort by Dunham. Having 1.4% residual sugar, the wine comes from Riesling vines planted in 2001 and 2002. This wine shows why the Lewis Vineyard has the reputation for being one of the best sites for Riesling in the state. The wine opens with aromatics of Gala apple, green papaya and hints of petroleum and starfruit. There are flavors of lemon/lime, crushed wet rock, lemon zest and white peach. This has a gorgeous range of flavors and complexity. (Best 2016-2024) International Wine Report 92 2016-12-01
2013 Dunham Trutina Following up the highly impressive 2012 Trutina, this Red Blend starts with aromatics of cassis, black plum, red cherry and hints of baking spices. There are medium to full bodied flavors of red cherry, red raspberry, vanilla and black olive. There is a lovely minerality and mouthfeel as this wine glides on the mid-palate. With nice structure and richness, I can see this cellaring beautifully into the next decade. (Best 2016-2028) International Wine Report 92 2016-12-01

2010 Mas d'en Gil Clos Fonta Pure but restrained violet, plum and berry aromas are on the money. This feels racy but also saturated, with kick as well as commendable overall balance. Flavors of plum, ripe tomato, schist and spice finish smooth, peppery, herbal and slightly warm, with a note of coffee. Drink through 2022. Regal Wine Imports Inc. Editors’ Choice. —M.S.
